Molex introduces the CMC and CMX connector families. The IP6K9K sealed, modular, high-density and hybrid connection systems are developed specifically for the transportation industry. The CMC and CMX connectors are designed to perform in high-conductivity applications and harsh environments.
CMC Connector System
Molex's CMC connector family is a sealed, high-density connection system designed to perform in high-conductivity applications and in harsh environments. The connectors are a cost-effective, modular, hybrid system that fits with various headers.
The CMC hybrid connectors and mating headers provide sealed, high-density, modular and cost-effective wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connection systems for heavy-duty powertrain and body-electronics applications in automotive and commercial vehicles.
Standard version CMC hybrid connectors hold two different terminal sizes, 0.635mm (.025") and 1.50mm (.059"). The power version of CMC hybrid connectors hold three different terminal sizes, 0.635mm (.025"), 1.50mm (.059") and 2.80mm (.110"). Both connector versions run at operating temperatures between -40° and +125°C. Standard CMC headers for wire-to-board connections are available in a variety of off-the-shelf 1-,2-, or 3- pocket configurations. The CMC connection system is validated to the following standards: ISO 8092-2, PSA B217050, USCAR 2, AK LV 124 and JD 53.3.

32-circuit wire-to-wire system featuring male plug designed for either bracket or clip mounting allows for adoption of complete CMC connection system throughout entire vehicle plus design allows flexibility based on a customer's space and application requirements.
Bling plugs available to close unused connector cavities secure sealing system meeting IP6K7 and IP6K9K and 500mbar air pressure provides design flexibility and increases efficiency to reduce costs.
CMX Connector System
Molex's CMX connector family is designed to meet the low- and medium-current requirements of space-constrained electronic control units and other wire-to-board transportation applications. Then new matte seal is designed for the ultimate high performance sealing function of the CTX terminals and can be used with ISO and JASO wires. The CMX system features a clean-body type design that performs well in harsh environments. The rear seal cover helps to reduce cycle time and applied costs for harness manufactures.

Hybrid connection system uses 2 different, high-conductivity, copper-alloy terminal sizes: CTX 064 (0.64mm) and CTX 150 (1.50mm) supports low and medium current applications from 2.5A up to 6.0A. Copper alloy allows excellent stress relaxation and current-carrying properties.
CTX 064 and CTX 150 terminals are one-piece, clean-body type, which are lower in cost than two-piece CP terminals.
Connectors feature matte-seal (also known as grommet seal) technology for CTX 064 and CTX 150 terminals which is the ultimate sealing protection for terminals.
Actuating the connector lever engages the interfacial-seal protector. The sophisticated design of the interfacial-seal protector surrounds the CMS connector while also protecting the interfacial seal ensures that connector remains fully sealed before mating and during mating and unmating operations.
Real seal-cover can be molded with breakable dummy-plugs for the CTX terminals cavities. Alternatively, bling plugs are available for each cavity size and allows greater flexibility for customers requiring voided cavities. Breakable dummy-plugs remove a process and therefore reduce assembly cycle-time and applied costs for harness makers.
