Ribbon Cable Applied Products
Heilind Electronics, the largest distributor of interconnect, electromechanical and wire & cable products in North America, has re-energized its industry-leading tool-kit of connector offering of Ribbon Cable Applied Product with Tyco Electronics.
Mass termination capabilities of the ribbon cable connectors have helped make ribbon cable, and particularly .050 centerline cable, popular within the electronics industry. The ability to terminate up to 64 conductors simultaneously, without stripping or otherwise pre-paring the cable, can significantly reduce labor costs and lead to a very cost efficient cable assembly.
Ribbon Cable Connectors are generally wire-to-board devices used to make the transition between cable and pc board circuitry. Though generally wire to board, many also offer board to board configurations using the same standard header. They find heavy use within equipment to connect one board to another or one subsystem to another. The Ribbon Cable family of interconnect is available in a wide range of pitches, mounting styles, and with or without latching capabilities.
