This change notification consists of overall improvements made to HVP-HD1000 and HVP-HD14000 series headers in order to improve long-term product robustness in corrosive environments. The surface treatment of the PowerTube header series will be changed from a nickel plating to passivation and the three lip seal (towards the aggregate) shore hardness increased. With this change TE will also be applying a lubricant to the inside of the mating interface to improve mate-ability with the plug as well. These changes have no negative impact on the overall product performance (e.g. electrical, mechanical, etc.), but rather serve as improvements to increase corrosion resistance. These changes have been validated and details of the validation can be provided at your request. -------As these changes bring noticeable improvements to the overall corrosion resistance, TE will be implementing these changes across all PNs starting in production after 11.03.2024. ------Customers may place orders for the current version of these headers until 23.12.2023. Orders place prior this date will be shipped out between 01.01.2024 and 29.02.2024. Orders received after this date will be shipped out after 11.03.2024 with the new changes implemented. There will be no opportunity to order the current header configuration (nickel plating with 45 SH seal) after 23.12.2023 as TE will start production of the improved parts and also clear inventory.
