The Arinc 600 aluminum shell and retainer plate surface finish will be changed from hexavalent chromate per MIL-C-5541 Class 1A to trivalent chromate per MIL-C-5541 Class 3 Type II. In addition, the retainer plates will be changed from a through-hole design with accompanying screw and lock-washer that extend above the retainer plate surface to countersunk retainer plates where the screw head surface will be flush with the top surface of the retainer plate. Existing part numbers will be discontinued and replaced by new part numbers contingent upon SANMINA and THALES approval of this change.
