| 01/28/2021 | MMM 991 - Quality Notice. 3M has identified a regulatory issue with the products that are referenced above and were shipped beginning of 2014 and through the end of 2019. 3M provided regulatory disclosure forms, upon request. In those forms, 3M stated that various 3M TwinAx cable assemblies provided did not intentionally contain any substance on the REACH SVHC list. Based on recent testing, 3M now understands that a component containing a chemical on the REACH SVHC list was used in the manufacturing of some of these cable assemblies from 2014 until July 2019. This component may have contained HBCDD at a concentration above 0.1%. 3M switched to another component in July 2019 and verified that all materials manufactured since July 2019 do not contain HBCDD. The component that contained HBCDD comprised a low percentage of overall mass of the cable. 3M evaluated the total volume of component shipped globally and determined that it did not exceed 1000 kg annually. 3M is voluntarily providing this notification with the understanding that our customers may be importing HBCDD for other applications and as such they will have to make their own assessments with respect to their regulatory obligations. | Download | |||
