Category 3 has declined in market volume and has been overtaken by Category 5e in its place, which is fully backwards compatible with Category 3 systems. Category 5e solutions continue to be deployed globally, and CommScope will support Category 5e (4 pair and higher pair counts) where Category 3 is requested.
