Hirose FX10-3 Series

Hirose's FX10-3 Series uses an SMT board-to-board connector that has a unique 3-piece floating contact system to simplify assembly and support high-speed transmission capability up to 15 Gbps. The latest addition to the FunctionMax family, the FX10-3 series is designed for high-speed transmission applications that require multiple stacking connectors on the same PCB.

Hirose's FX10-3 series mezzanine connector floating contact mechanism can compensate for alignment errors up to ±0.3 mm in both the X- and Y-axis direction. This floating feature allows for multiple connectors to be used in a mezzanine design reducing the stress on solder joints caused by misaligned connectors. The 3-piece connector uses a new design that connects ground pins inside the connector with ground bars and lowers crosstalk, which improves the insertion-loss to crosstalk radio while increasing transmission speed capability.

This series is available in 120, 144 and 168 positions and has a stacking height range of 8 to 13mm with 1mm increments. Three types of interposers are offered; two that have grounding options with different impedance values of 100 ohms and 85 ohms and one that does not provide grounding for all types of signals.
